As part of The OpenGov Foundation’s growing commitment and investment in Wichita, Kansas, we’re hiring a new senior developer and opening a local office!
We’re eager to build on Wichita’s dedication to open data and community engagement. We see this momentum with city employees who are excited to bring their practices into the 21st century and how the city is soliciting public feedback on an Open Data Policy.
Our latest hire is Tanner Doshier, a senior developer with a passion for open source software who graduated summa cum laude from Wichita State University. He brings a rare combination of expertise and enthusiasm to build tools that power 21st century democracy.

Tanner joins Seth Etter, the organization’s first hire in Wichita who organizes community groups including devICT, a software development meetup group, and Open Wichita, a civic hacking and open data initiative.
As the team expands, we’re thrilled for Tanner and Seth to join the growing community in The Labor Party, a coworking space in the Old Town neighborhood of Wichita. The new office will allow the local OpenGov team to put down official roots for the organization and share the mission by hosting events and in-person meetings.
We’re incredibly excited to invest in the Wichita community at the same time that the city is committing to open data and citizen engagement. Get in touch if you’re interested in visiting our new office or curious to learn more about our work!
