Tomorrow, The OpenGov Foundation’s Executive Director Seamus Kraft will help lead a panel discussion on creating a 21st century Congress at the Legislative Data and Transparency Conference. The panel includes Kathy Goldschmidt, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Congressional Management Foundation, and Ethan Chumley, Campaign Technology Advisor at Microsoft.

Congress is a system of systems and each of those subsystems are in desperate need of an overhaul. During this panel, we will highlight five large challenges and opportunities for the legislative branch: engagement, collaboration, internal oversight and compliance, capacity to access, understand, and act on high-quality, reliable information, and improving public trust.

For congressional staff facing a growing workload and decreasing capacity, this panel will explore solutions to support your public service. For journalists, this panel will identify where modern technology can improve our most important institution. For the public, this conversation will spark ideas to make sure your voice is heard in the halls of power. Join us to share your thoughts on bringing Congress into the 21st century!
